Shoe Maintenance

Here are some handy hints to help keep your shoes in tip top condition,

  • Shoes need to be lightly brushed to remove dirt before you apply a polishing product.
  • Canvas, leather and suede shoes need the correct polishing products. This will help fill in any minute cracks on the surface, and help avoid the cracks from widening.
  • Typically leather should use wax, suede a cleaning bush and block, canvas a damn polishing liquid.
  • Shoe tree are handy tools to have, they stretch out the shoe to the correct proportions and avoid the shoe from creasing up and eventually bending.
  • Do not place wet or damp shoes next to a radiator or heating fan. This will not help the shoe maintain it's shape. They should be left to dry in a average heated and ventilated room.
  • Avoid washing canvas trainers and shoes in a washing machine.
  • You will need a waterproof wax protectent unless the shoe has been stated as waterproof.
  • Alternating your shoes per day, and not using new shoes day after day and in wet conditions should help extend the life cycle of them.

  • Aerosols - all whether protectors and polish for canvas materials.
  • Shoe Dye - change the colour of your canvas shoes simply.
  • Boot Trees - for riding boots etc, helps keep the shape perfectly whilst storing.
  • Shoe Horns - if you have trouble getting into your shoes, this helps slip your foot in.
  • Shoe Trees - helps keep your shoes from bending and creasing.
  • Heel Cushions - for those on their feet for long period of times, help eases the workload.
  • Insoles - replacements incase yours has worn out, or does not fit correctly.
  • Leather Dye - simply why of improving the colour of old and faded materials.
  • Spray - shoe colouring for trainers when the dirt is so ingrained it cannot be brushed away.
  • Polish - improves the shine of leather and keeps the leather well maintained.
  • Segs - helps protect the heal from bruising and rubbing.
  • Brushes - removes dirt from leather and canvas, and with a block can clean suede.
  • Laces - replacement incase yours have snapped or are worn and discoloured.
  • Stretchers - like trees, they help keep the shoe from creasing.
  • Suede Dye - simply improves the colour of faded suede material.
  • Cream - cleaning substance for all types of shoes, are not cheap to buy.
  • Wax renovator - used when your leather is in dire need.
